Greek crisis and disorientation operations latest update: the return of “success story” and followings
by system failure
Right
after the short governmental crisis in Greece, when “Dimokratiki
Aristera”, the leftist party of the governmental troika, retired
from the governmental coalition, another disorientation operation
began immediately in Greece, by the banking-media establishment and
its politicians-puppets in power, through a massive propaganda
attack, in an effort to downgrade the major issue that came up, after
the unacceptable decision concerning the closing of the Greek public
broadcaster (ERT), and also, to disorientate Greek people from the
new catastrophic measures which are about to come, and include among
other things, massive discharges in public sector, as exactly the
lenders' troika wants.
The
return of “success story” operation with help from abroad and
the pipeline war
Right
after the setting of the new government, in which now participate
exclusively the two parties that were the basic representatives of
big corporative interests and state-draining private sector during
the last decades in Greece, a new deal came up very fast, concerning
the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) from Azerbaijan, which was fully
supported by the European “partners” of Greece. Domestic big
media presented the deal in triumph and reproduced the credits of
Western big media - which rushed to contribute in propaganda -
related to the deal.
The
reproducing speed of the news shows that the TAP pipeline deal was
settled quite a long time ago. It was a secret card which Europeans gave to the Greek prime minister Antonis Samaras - as
reward for the applied catastrophic measures - the right time, in an
attempt to escape from difficult situation, bringing back the
“success story” even for a while, in order to gain some time and
pass the new cruel measures against Greek society. Which means that
Samaras is a hostage of the domestic and international big capital
and simply follows the orders. The “stopover” of Samaras in
Azerbaijan returning from his trip to China was not, of course,
accidental. Therefore, there is no initiative of any Greek government
concerning TAP.
Also,
the failure of selling the Greek gas company (DEPA) to Russians, was
not accidental, since in this case, Gazprom would have become the
basic stakeholder of the Greek-Bulgarian pipeline IGB, in which the
Greek company participates. And this means that the supply of
Bulgaria and Romania with gas from Azerbaijan would be impossible.
The
180 degree turn of European Commission is characteristic, since,
while appeared at the start supporting fully the Nabucco pipeline,
subsequently withdrew its support, since Nabucco was no longer
competitive against Russian interests pipeline South Stream.
All
the above prove, on the one hand, that the West wants, by any means,
to minimize Russian influence in the Eastern Balkans and Greece,
on the other, that Greece has fully granted her sovereignty to
Western interests, through public debt, without being able to make
the slightest move in future. This appears to be a nightmare
situation because the country will be forced to deal future crises
without any negotiating ability, in the case of - for example - “gray
zones”-type solutions enforcement. The other big project
cancellation concerning the Burgas-Alexandroupoli oil pipeline, which
would had strengthened significantly the defense of Thace, is
characteristic.
Extremely
delayed statements, adjusted polls, “drafted” bankers and
“independent” MPs
Only
two days after the formation of the new government, a statement
appeared “accidentally”, through which the new organization
“Popular Fighters Group”, took responsibility for the assault
with Kalashnikov automatic rifle against central headquarters of
“Nea Dimokratia”, the
right-wing party leading government coalition. The assault took
place last January, which means that the statement came up with over
a five-month delay! The extreme delay of taking responsibility and
statement appearance at the specific time, show not only a
provocateur action, but another card used the right moment by the
systemic establishment, to enhance disorientation operations
against public.
At
about the same time, a specific poll came up and disseminated
remarkably fast by the major media, according to which, generally,
“Nea Dimokratia” slightly
increased its power from the opposition left-wing party SYRIZA, the
Socialist governmental coalition party PASOK increased its power due
to its decision to support government after the ERT fiasco, and
“Dimokratiki Aristera” who left the governmental coalition,
appeared to be loosing power, and therefore payed for the decision to
abandon government. The poll and the way that has been presented from
the big media, was targeting to defuse tense from the huge
reactions in Greece and abroad after the decision of government to
close ERT.
A
small, characteristic example of the way the major media present such
polls: tv-speaker focus on the fact that 31,7% of the people
participated, evaluate positively the new government Nea Dimokratia -
PASOK, without reference at all on 58,3%, thus significantly higher
percentage, of people who evaluate it negatively! At the same time,
charts are passing fast on TV screen, so that the viewer cannot
evaluate properly the poll findings!
During
these disorientation operations, even the banker Michalis Sallas, one
of the basic representatives of the big international banking
interests in Greece, was called out, to make a statement, according
to which, Greece today stands at the best point of the last five
years(!), and this statement was reproduced very fast from the big
media. However, if one think twice, this was not a surprise, since
Sallas' "colleagues", bankers, made huge profits the last
five years, while the vast majority of the Greek people were led to
poverty and suffer until today.
Ex-independent
MPs, Markopoulos and Soldatos were also called out to support
government, in order to enhance the week majority of the government
in Greek parliament and justify Samaras' call for “unity in
difficult times”. According to this new disorientation tactic, the
supposed displeased - with catastrophic policies - MPs, withdraw
their support to governmental parties, stay in the ice as independent
MPs, and when things are getting difficult, they return back to their
parties and government coalition. The Markopoulos-Soldatos case is
characteristic, since after leaving Nea Dimokratia, they re-elected
with “Anexartiti Ellines” political party, in order to validate
their stance against catastrophic policies imposed by the troika
lenders, but in the first chance, left from party and stayed in ice
as independent MPs, in order to be ready for their come back to “Nea
Dimokratia”.
The
reality
Disorientation
operations and the new theatrical performance from the banking-media
establishment, are not related of course with the real picture in
Greece. A characteristic example is that, the closing of
bread-industry “Katselis” and its nearly 500 workers left
unemployed, was a fact which the big media didn't bother to present,
in order to keep the new “success story” festive unaffected.
But
the neoliberal dictatorship performances continue in a European level
too, and one recent example is the informal summit of EU, during
which, European officials decided to fight the youth unemployment
with the amount of 6 billion euros. Just remember only the 28 billion
euros, for a start, with which the Greek ex-Prime Minister Kostas
Karamanlis enhanced the Greek banks, even before the arrival of the
global financial crisis in Greece, and you have a good sample of how
important the amount of 6 billion euros is, and how much will
contribute to the big problem of youth unemployment in Europe.
Triumphs
about closing the TAP pipeline deal, were supported with the -
necessary for the case - estimation of the number of new jobs that
will be created in future, but the systemic parrots didn't bother, as
usual, to estimate the new thousands of jobs that will be lost in
public and private sector, due to the continuous implementation of
catastrophic policies from the neoliberal dictatorship.
