A recent TV
spot from the Right-wing government coalition party, Nea Dimokratia,
for the euro elections, gives another small example of how the
systemic establishment in Greece uses propaganda to present to voters
a false "success story" for Greece.
The
PressProject website reveals:
“In the Greek subtitles the translation is begun
with a capital letter and ends in a full stop. According to the ad,
Barack Obama said a full sentence and that sentence was, ‘The Greek
people see a light at the end of the tunnel.'”

“A quick search on the White House website reveals
the full transcript and video of the statements Obama made to
reporters after his brief meeting with Antonis Samaras. What he
really said was, 'And I think Prime Minister Samaras is committed to
taking the tough actions that are required, but also, understandably,
wants to make sure that the Greek people see a light at the end of
the tunnel.'”
