The "rationalists" and the "anti-Semitic irrationalists"

An example of how the system builds the profile of the “rational” voter, or, another conspiracy theory if you prefer

by system failure

An article in a big newspaper in Greece focused on a study presented in a scientific conference in Berlin by three Greek scientists, concerning the broadness of the anti-Semitism in Greece. At the end of the first paragraph one can read:

In this sense, the specific study did not show anything much different from previous ones in Greece and abroad and which they are verified by an objective and relatively 'suspicious' observer of the behaviour and 'beliefs' of the Greek society.”

For a start, the "objective" and "suspicious" observer is separated from the rest of the Greek society, as being a, say, higher intelligence, which observes the behaviour of millions of people without being affected by this behaviour. Subsequently, one can read:

The relative originality of this study, however, is that it connects the anti-Semitism with the trend of the average Greek to be suspicious and his confirmed stance to accept conspiracy theories, or, to believe in paradoxes and beliefs without rational base. The answers absolutely support this reality since 69% of the respondents answered that the medicine for curing the cancer has been discovered but not circulated widely due to some big interests, 59% answered that the 9/11 attack was designed by the US in order to promote their plans globally, 27% answered that the moon-landing of the American astronauts in 1969 was not real but has been staged and, 75%, of course, answered that the crisis in Greece was premeditated by external forces to despoil the country ...”

As a first observation, one could mark that there is an attempt for an arbitrary categorization to the same category, of people who believe in different things and relate them with anti-Semitism. For example, how can anyone conclude that someone who believes that the medicine for curing the cancer has been discovered but not circulated widely due to some big interests, is also anti-Semitic?

Additionally, is it "paradox" and "belief without rational base" someone to believe that the medicine for curing the cancer has been discovered but not circulated widely because some research organizations will lose huge amounts of funding? Or, because some pharmaceutical industries will lose billions from drugs in which they invested and will become useless in such a case?

Of course, the way these questions are settled in such a study is quite significant in order participants to be presented as "conspiracy vulnerable". For example, a question like "do you believe that the drug curing the cancer has been discovered, but not circulated widely?", is quite different from a question of type, e.g., "do you believe that there is a possibility that the drag curing the cancer has been discovered, but not circulated widely?" because those who will "dare" to answer positively in the first question could be more easily categorized at least as people vulnerable to conspiracy theories, even if they are rational people who simply don't trust the controlled information reaching to them.

The most remarkable, however, is the categorization of the "average Greek" in the start of the paragraph: "The relative originality of this study, however, is that it connects the anti-Semitism with the trend of the average Greek to be suspicious and his confirmed stance to accept conspiracy theories, or, to believe in paradoxes and beliefs without rational base. The answers absolutely support this reality ..."

Therefore, either someone belongs to the 75% of the participants who answered that the crisis in Greece was premeditated by external forces to despoil the country, or, to the 27% who believes that the moon-landing of the American astronauts in 1969 was not real, is being categorized as the "average Greek" who adopts conspiracy theories, and all these of course, are somehow related to the anti-Semitism.

Full article in Greek:

In other words, if someone believes that the economic crisis was premeditated, is treated as equally vulnerable to conspiracy theories with someone who believes that the American astronauts never landed on moon, even when almost everyone knows now that the big banks are totally control governments-puppets in the US and Europe, since the powerful financial lobbies directly affect the decisions of the European mechanisms and institutions and former bank executives can be found everywhere in governmental key positions.

But the story does not end here. In a daily show of a big TV channel in Greece yesterday (23/7), a researcher spoke about this study who stated among other things that the 75% of the participants (it appears to be the same study), believe that the Greek crisis was premeditated by non-institutional centers and that this is something which makes sense, according to the rhetoric (presumably by some politicians) of the last three elections in Greece.

What is more interesting, however, is that the researcher related the rest 25% of the specific question to the government coalition voters! As he said, this 25% are people who voted for current government and, additionally, he claimed that he and his colleagues have found that indeed there is a relation. This means that they concluded that the voters of PASOK and Nea Dimokratia do not believe that the crisis was premeditated!

The interview between 34:35 and 38:25:

So, now you have another proof that those who voted for the neoliberal government are the "rationalists" while the rest are the "irrationalists" who are threat to the stability of the country!

But it's not only that. The 75% automatically transformed into "sheeps" who are vulnerable to the conspiracy rhetoric, while the 25% are the "rational" who are smart enough not to be trapped by the anti-systemic "populism" and trust the "official" and exclusively "valid" information. The occultation of information and the bombardment with lies, inaccuracies and an unprecedented propaganda by the mainstream media, carriers of this "official" and "valid" information, is of course a detail without significance!

Israel Has Always ‘Depended on Genocide’ to Colonize Palestine

BreakThrough News   Rania Khalek and Eugene Puryear discuss Israel’s resumption of its genocidal war on Palestinians in Gaza, launched just a day before Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was set to face his corruption trial. Israel, backed by a green light from Trump, intensified the bombing of Gaza, began a ground invasion, and killed over 500 Palestinians within 48 hours while enforcing a total blockade of Gaza. Eugene states that Israel never wanted to go through with the ceasefire because “the Israeli project can’t succeed unless it totally ethnically cleanses the territories it claims– and kills anyone in the way.” Recognizing that they may “not get the chance again,” they are putting their foot on the accelerator.”

Betar: the Far-Right Hate Group Helping Trump Deport Israel’s Critics

by Alan Macleod  Part 1 A far-right, pro-Israel group with a history of support for terror and genocide is working closely with the Trump administration, preparing dossiers on thousands of pro-Palestine figures it wants deported from the United States. Betar U.S. is known to have had several meetings with senior government officials and has claimed credit for the arrest and detention of Mahmoud Khalil, a leader of the nationwide anti-genocide student demonstrations that began at Columbia University last year. Ross Glick, the group’s executive director until last month, noted that he met with a diverse set of influential lawmakers, including Democratic senator John Fetterman and aides to the Republican senators Ted Cruz and James Lankford, and that all supported Betar U.S.’ campaign to rid the country of thousands of “terror supporters.” Shortly after Glick’s trip to Washington, D.C., Trump signed an executive order titled “Additional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism” that promises ...

Netanyahu commits 'a bloodbath in Gaza' to save himself

Middle East Eye   At least 400 people have been killed after a surprise Israeli attack on Gaza in the early hours of Tuesday. Israel’s government vows to continue escalating these military attacks, saying it’s in response to Hamas’ refusal to extend the ceasefire, which has been in place since January. But is this the real reason for this morning’s attack? Or is there a much more cynical explanation - one tied to the political fate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu?   The Big Picture Podcast speaks to Daniel Levy, the president of the US/Middle East Project and a former Israeli peace negotiator.

Professor at Center of Columbia University Deportation Scandal is Former Israeli Spy

The professor at the center of the Columbia University deportation scandal is a former Israeli intelligence official, MintPress News can reveal. Mahmoud Khalil, a recent graduate of the university’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), was abducted by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Saturday for his role in organizing protests last year against Israel’s attack on Gaza. Khalil’s dean, Dr. Keren Yarhi-Milo, head of the School of International and Public Affairs, is a former Israeli military intelligence officer and official at Israel’s Mission to the United Nations. Yarhi-Milo played a significant role in drumming up public concern about a supposed wave of intolerable anti-Semitism sweeping over the campus, thereby laying the groundwork for the extensive crackdown on civil liberties that has followed the protests.   by Alan Macleod   Part 2 - Unprecedented Protests, Unprecedented Repression Columbia was the epicenter of a massive protest movement across ...

Trump’s ISRAEL FIRST Flip-Flop On Attacking Yemen!

The Jimmy Dore Show   President Trump has taken decisive military action in Yemen, ordering airstrikes against Iran-backed Houthi rebels on March 15, 2025. This action represents a significant flip-flop from when, as a presidential candidate, Trump railed against the Biden administration for bombing the Houthis instead of talking to them. Jimmy Dore discusses the strikes, the largest U.S. military operation in the Middle East since Trump took office and which came after a period of relative quiet in the region.
