“Kyrgyz
President Almazbek Atambayev on Thursday signed the documents to join
the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).”
“On
Wednesday, Kyrgyz Parliament approved the ratification of treaties
and protocols for Kyrgyzstan to join the EEU. Kyrgyz Prime Minister
Temir Sariyev told Wednesday's parliament meeting that 90 percent of
Kyrgyz citizens support their country's EEU membership. Kyrgyzstan
will become a full member of the EEU after ratification by all member
countries of the economic bloc.”
“The
EEU was established on Jan. 1, 2010 by Russia, Kazakhstan and
Belarus. Armenia became a full member this year. The customs union
aims to increase economic cooperation with the free flow of goods,
services, capital and labor and coordinated policies in the energy,
industrial, agricultural and transport sectors.”
