After
the military pressure on Russia, an economic one, through the Ruble
and oil price fall
Direct
EU interventions in Greece
Greece-Russia:
Different cases in a ringer of attacks
by
Thanasis Krousos
At
the same time that Greece accepts a new round of attacks and direct
intervention against the Left mostly by the EU and especially the
German imperialism, Russia, probably not accidentally, accepts a big
military and economic Western pressure, mostly by the US imperialism.
The
West, and specifically the US-NATO imperialism, assisted by the EU,
designs for months the direct fall of the international oil price,
which has been reduced by 40% during the last six months!
The
main target of these designs is to hit heavily the Russian economy,
as being key exporter of hydrocarbons, facing the danger of a great
recession in 2015 in case that the oil price remains at current low
levels. On the other hand, Ruble falls dramatically, despite the
significant rise of the key rate by the Russian central bank on
Tuesday, from 10.5% to 17%!.
The
dominant "circles" in the US and the West believe that the
combination of military (Ukraine, etc.) and economic pressure on
Russia will be transferred to the political field and will be
transformed to a political instability of the Russian scenery.
The
Western "hawks" seek a Western-friendly shift of Yeltsin
type for the political power in Russia, or, some kind of a political
chaos which will allow the West to dominate in the Eurasian zone.
Despite
that the cases of Greece and Russia are totally different, and not
only due to unequal "weight" of each country, there are
some, not so distant and detached, analogies.
A
first analogy is that Greece must remain, by any means, a "guinea
pig" of social dissolution in the German sphere of economic
influence and its political-military satellization around the
American-Israeli axis must be enhanced. Russia must retire from
asserting an autonomous role and power, and move to a role of a
downgraded partner of the American-EU dominant bloc globally.
The
attack of the American-EU imperialism on Greece, Russia, European
South, East Europe and the Middle East and Central Asia, does not
basically represents an exhibition of power, but mostly, an
indication of panic and weakness. The German Europe continuously
wobbles and retreats, while the US are losing fast political and
economic ground against the new international correlations and the
"new" global and peripheral map being shaped.
Under
this frame, Greece should re-examine its role and position.
Developments
in both European South and East Europe, East Mediterranean and Middle
East, show that Greece immediately needs to change not only its
economic orientation, but also its orientation concerning its foreign
policy.
