A few days
after the Greek PM, Antonis Samaras, confirmed on Tuesday the
nomination of former EU Commissioner Stavros Dimas for president, a
terrorist attack took place:
"In
the early hours of Friday morning, a number of assailants reportedly
sprayed the Embassy of Israel in the Greek capital with gunfire,
hitting the building multiple times. According to media reports, the
attack did not cause any casualties or serious damage."

It is
doubtful whether Samaras will manage to collect the number of 180 MPs
required to elect Dimas for the new President and most speak about
national elections, already. According to The Guardian, a close aide
to Samaras said the government believed it was in a “win-win”
situation: “'Even if we lose [the vote for president] we will
win because voters will blame Syriza for the chaos that will ensue,'
he said. 'And that will assure us victory in a national election.'”

The tactics
of fear is a useful tool every time the regime feels that is
threatened. We saw similar events before euro elections in Greece.

Other incidents in Greece took place in 2013:

Current
government is playing the card of "stability" also in the
security sector, as the Leftist party SYRIZA is being presented
unsuitable to secure stability in the country. The tactics of fear
have been used also in the past every time that the Left was on rise
in Greece.
As long as
we are getting closer to the possibility of national elections in
Greece and the polls give a steady precedence to SYRIZA, we should
expect a new round of various provocative operations by the systemic
establishment in an effort to blackmail and terrorise voters. What's
at stake now includes the whole Europe:
