The
constitutional and legitimate government of Nicolas Maduro is facing
a brutal offensive by the internal and foreign right led by the
United States.
In
the opinion of analyst Carlos Fazion, this is a brutal offensive
that, using the framework of an irregular or hybrid war, has
implemented last-generation technologies and an elite of experts in
electronic war, manipulation of truth and “democratic”
propaganda.
This
scenario is the context for an ongoing line of attack that is set to
culminate in a matter of days, on October 13.
On
that date, former judges of the Supreme Court of Venezuela will be
sworn in, in the Washington headquarters of the Organization of
American States (OAS), according to declarations of right-wing
spokespeople on social networks.
Layers
Antonio Merval and Pedro Troconis said this operation will be carried
out under the protection of the OAS two days before the regional
elections in Venezuela, and have announced that Miguel Ángel Marín
will be designated as President of the Supreme Court of Justice.
Never
before in history did a country have a Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ)
located outside its borders. This extraterritoriality surprises the
juridical world and shows the aberrations that the right is willing
to commit in order to attack and destroy the Bolivarian Revolution,
currently led by President Nicolas Maduro.
Maduro’s
government has already warned, in July, that the appointment of SCJ
judges by members of the National Assembly who had been declared in
contempt was absolutely illicit, because there were no vacancies in
the SCJ at the moment.
On
Jan. 5, 2016, the SJC declared the National Assembly in contempt for
swearing in three opposition lawmakers whose elections were suspended
temporarily for voting irregularities in the Amazon region. Given
that it has been operating with non-verified people acting as
legislators, the court has said all of the Assembly’s actions are
illegal.
It
is not unreasonable to believe that this maneuver that the right is
attempting seeks to form a parallel government. The lawyers who
execute this plan could be incurring in crimes like treason,
according to statements by courts of the Republic.
Days
ago, the right-wing coalition Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD)
announced they were abandoning the “exploratory phase” to
initiate dialogue with the Venezuelan government and find a dialogued
solution to the crisis. The opposition cancelled their trip to
Dominican Republic, where a meeting was scheduled with government
representatives, alleging that the government hadn’t fulfilled
their demands. But there might also be concealed reasons behind this
decision, related to the strategy that will be executed on October
13.
According
to a reputed source consulted by Prensa Latina, this strategy, which
has been co-designed and encouraged by OAS Secretary General Luis
Almagro and US Senator for Florida Marco Rubio.
The
plan includes pronouncing the destitution of the current regular and
alternate judges of the SCJ, who were elected in December 2016, and
appointing substitutes while outside the borders of Venezuela,
without compliance with the Constitutional norm nor the organic law
of the highest justice organism.
The
plan also includes giving back her seat to Luisa Ortega Díaz, former
Attorney General who is currently a fugitive after being charged of
corruption. She would be a sort of de facto ruler, like Pedro Carmona
was when the right-wing made the pathetic attempt to overthrow Hugo
Chavez in 2002.
The
plan of the Venezuelan opposition also contemplates appointing new
directors to the National Electoral Council, and with this parallel
and illegal structure of power declaring the nullity of the current
National Constituent Assembly, and ultimately, initiating a trial
against President Nicolás Maduro.
The
well-oiled media machine that has been built to disinform the world
on Venezuela, would propagandize and validate this scheme to oust a
constitutional President.
It
would be, in short, a coup d’État perpetrated with an appearance
of legality.
This
could lead to a belivist escalade in the Latin American country.
Trump has announced he is ready to take “new actions” against
Nicolás Maduro’s “socialist dictatorship”, and October 13th
may be a part of his agenda.
