The White House psychopaths
continue to provoke North Korea, escalating the dangerous games in
the Asia-Pacific. One might ask, why now? The answer is simple: the
'anti-establishment' Donnie who was condemning the US interventionism
before the latest elections, is just continuing the Obama agenda for
the region. As already pointed many times by the blog, the ultimate
target behind North Korea dangerous provocation is one: full
encirclement of China by land and sea.
Of course, Donnie uses the
North Korean 'monster' also for distraction purposes as already
described:
Trump appears to be desperate to present something positive after his
rapid and unconditional retreat from his pre-election positions
towards almost everything that shapes the US neocon/neoliberal
establishment
agenda.
Yet, a potential accident due
to these dangerous games could lead to a disastrous war with North
Korea. Lawrence Wilkerson briefly explained the probable consequences
to Sharmini Peries and The
Real News:
If we were to fire a spread of
nuclear weapons at North Korea, even if we pinpointed the strike
points with a CEP of 10 meters, say, or even 10 feet, that is to say,
it would land within 10 feet of our strike point, if we fired all of
that panoply of death and destruction, we would kill a lot of people,
and we would destroy an enormous structure aboveground, and we
probably would pollute Japan and China and certainly all of North
Korea, but we would not get their nuclear weapons complex. It is too
far underground and too well protected.
That's the nature of the
challenge that we're confronting. In order to ensure that you've got
that complex, you would have to fight either a nuclear-assisted or a
totally conventional conflict on the ground, in the air, at sea, and
you would have to defeat the North Korean armed forces and then march
in and more or less occupy the country, search out all of those
facilities and destroy them.
Then you'd probably have to
hang around for a while to make sure chaos didn't result, and to make
sure that Russia and China didn't take real advantage of that chaos
and consolidate North Korea before you could or before the South
could.
This is not an easy challenge,
as McMaster and Mattis and others are presenting it as. I'm not being
fair to them because if you'll check their statements, you'll see
that they've said from time to time, especially General Mattis, that
this is an incredibly difficult problem.
In the meantime, while all
of this is happening, if even only half of North Korea's artillery
works, Seoul is going to be aflame. It's going to be burning.
Thousands if not tens of thousands of people are going to be dead,
probably hundreds of thousands in the casualty figures. This is not
something you want to do, period.
Meanwhile, the Chinese started
to advice citizens on how to react on a potential nuclear strike
against North Korea. As RT
reports:
A Chinese regional daily has
published a piece advising citizens of Jilin Province, which
neighbors North Korea, on what to do in the event of a nuclear
attack. The guide includes colorful cartoons.
China’s state-affiliated
Jilin Province daily newspaper issued a full-page report informing
civilians on the effects of nuclear weapons and how to protect
themselves, Chinese media reported on Wednesday. The northeastern
region is close to the North Korean Punggye-ri nuclear test site and
shares a vast border with it.
The report describes in detail
how dangerous nuclear weapons can be and what happens following the
explosion. Light radiation, blast waves, early-stage nuclear
radiation, nuclear electro-magnetic pulses, and radioactive pollution
can cause serious destruction and casualties, the article says. Apart
from detailed descriptions of the effects, the piece also discusses
wartime air raids.
The practical part instructs
people caught in an attack both inside and outside to take cover once
they see the flash of an explosion, feel shockwaves, and are affected
by optical radiation. People who are outside during a nuclear attack
should lie down or dive into water if possible. Those who are indoors
should lie in a corner or hide under a table or bed, and as soon as
the shock wake passes, immediately close the doors and windows to
prevent radioactive dust from entering the house.
Trump must stop playing
dangerous games in the region, close all his 'mad dogs' in the cage
and start decent negotiations with North Korea and the cooperation of
Russia and China. Otherwise, the disaster of a potential accident
cannot be calculated accurately and could be even worse than
Wilkerson described.
